  • In light of the continuing bombardment, Sir Bob Russell MP has started a petition to call for a No-Fly zone over the Gaza strip.

    We call on the UN to create a No Fly Zone over Gaza to protect innocent residents as well as UN staff and aid workers.

    The House of Commons is now in recess for the summer. We sat on just Monday and Tuesday this week. I spoke twice on each day including a direct challenge to the Prime Minister raising the question of "war crimes" by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza.

  • A silent vigil at Colchester War Memorial at 7pm on Monday next week will commemorate the anniversary of the start of the First World War on 4th August 1914.

    Earlier this year the town's MP, Sir Bob Russell, held a public meeting to discuss how the centenary could be commemorated and this decided that a silent vigil would be the most appropriate.

  • A milestone was reached on Tuesday when Colchester MP Sir Bob Russell held his 900th Advice Bureau for residents.

    Since he became the Town's MP in 1997 Sir Bob has had more than 10,000 appointments with residents who have sought his help with a wide range of issues.

    So many people want to meet Sir Bob that he is currently taking appointments for September with the next ten already fully booked.

  • Israel's political and military leaders were this afternoon in the House of Commons accused of being war criminals.

    The accusation was made by Colchester MP Sir Bob Russell directly to Prime Minister David Cameron who gave a statement to the Commons on both the current conflict in Gaza by Israel against Palestinians, and also about the missile attack which brought down a passenger plane over Ukraine which it is thought had Russian involvement.
