Zebra crossing success

Cllr Ray Gamble estimates that he has been pushing for a crossing on St. John's Road for 15 years or so and it has happened at last! Thanks to all those who helped over the years especially those who supported the petition organised by local school children. The photo shows Ray at the crossing near the back entrance to the school.

A request for a zebra crossing at the shops over St Christopher Road was made. This has now been assessed by the County Council. Regrettably they have told us this site does not meet their criteria. "This is a shame because it would have been useful for a number of folk," commented Cllr Ray Gamble on hearing the news.
