Colchester MP Bob Russell is celebrating success after a ten-year Parliamentary campaign to get agreement to build an airport on the remote Island of St Helena, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic.

Schools will be saved says MP

Colchester MP Bob Russell says there is no way that Thomas Lord Audley School at Monkwick will now be closed following the Government's axing of funds to the secondary school re-organisation in this part of Essex - and he felt that Alderman Blaxill School at Shrub End would also remain open once discussions are held.

Essex County Council reviewing free bus passes

Free bus travel for over-60's (which was bought back by Liberal Democrats in Colchester last year) is now being reviewed by Essex County Council, who have taken over responsibility for funding the project from the Lib Dem led Borough Council.
