Colchester MP Bob Russell has celebrated his 10th Anniversary as the town's Member of Parliament with a party for local Liberal Democrat members and activists.

Mr Russell was elected MP for Colchester at the 1997 General Election held on 1st May that year. He became the first Liberal Democrat MP in the East of England.

He was re-elected in the 2001 and 2005 General Elections, with increased majorities.

The 10th Anniversary celebrations were held at The Grapes public house in Mersea Road.
