Two books featuring knots have been presented to Colchester Scouts' Camp Site at Thorrington by Colchester MP Bob Russell, who is Secretary of the All-Party Parliamentary Scout Group.

He is pictured presenting them to Mrs Jacqui Archard, who is Chairman of the camp site, during the Centenary Camp which was held as part of this year's celebrations to mark 100 years of Scouting.

More than 500 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers attended the Camp.

In his youth Mr Russell was a member of the Thorrington Service Crew which helped look after the camp site. As a member of the 1st Myland (35th Colchester) Scout Group he gained the Queen's Scout Badge and Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award.
